Believers often gather at the risk of public persecution, humiliation and little to no protection from their governments. In June 2009 more than 40 homes of Christian believers were burned to the ground where the women and young girls were stripped naked and dragged through the streets behind farm tractors by their captors. Another young boy was beaten near to death after he drank tea at an establishment and the owner found him to be wearing a cross of Christ.

In June our mission team participated with other mission organizations from North America to spread the Gospel in Peru. The obstacles faced were the rugged mountains, high altitudes, class six roads and difficulty reaching the remote areas. Still - one of the greatest needs in mission work is laborers to go into the field. Our Lord said "Many are called, but few are chosen."

SIM Missions to Honduras enabled us to reach out once again in the mountains of Las Delicias, Tulian Rio, San Juan, Ciriboya and the Mosquito Coast. Our time and efforts were hampered by the "interm" government installed after the military take-over of the country. Our team was safe but not able to move about as we normally do.
